The waterproof Movement Detector PIR is powered by a 9v PP3 battery (supplied) and in normal use will last around 12 months. Mount the PIR in the location you want protected and then plug the Receiver in to the mains. Every movement in the protected zone will now cause the PIR to send a signal to the Receiver . You can have more than one detector reporting to the Receiver and each detector on a separate channel so you know exactly which sensor was triggered. The PIR sends out an invisible beam either in a 'FAN' shape (range of about 4-6 meters & up to 4m wide) or a longer range narrower 'TORCH' beam shape (range up to 14 meters & up to 2m wide) and you can change the style of beam whenever you want. Not only that, you can even twist the Beam Lens to get a precise angle of transmission.

The Receiver Unit contains 4 channels each with its own identifier sound and flashing LED, both of which operate for about 10 seconds, so it is easy and quick to identify which detector has operated. Of course, if you are only using one detector then it is obvious! There is a volume control - 'Low Battery Indicator' - Power On Light and up to 4 channels and the receiver can be stood on a desk or table top or even mounted to the wall.

Many of these units have been sold to firms in order to signal arrivals at a loading bay, staff entrance or reception area. The clever way the Movement Sensors are designed means that it is even possible to mount the PIR in such a way as to be hidden behind a tree or post.
